Confident English is a general English course in Bath designed for women over 50 aiming to boost their English skills for travel, life and work, while exploring the city of Bath. This is a mixed-level course for women aged 50+ with a B1-C1 level of English (intermediate to advanced).
Course structure
This course combines classroom lessons with educational/cultural activities, with a total of 25 hours per week. You can choose either a 1 or 2 week course. The course will develop your general English language skills, focusing on building your confidence in communicating with people at all English levels.
Each morning, you will have three hours of lessons at the school and after the lunch break, you will have two hours of educational and cultural activities, designed to improve your English. Your teacher will guide you as you apply your English to real-life situations, giving you the chance to ask questions and enrich your vocabulary. You will learn the English phrases and expressions that are required for everyday communication and the teacher will summarise the skills learnt at the end of each day.
The city is your classroom
Afternoon activities help you make the most of the fantastic city of Bath. These include guided walks around Bath, visits to historic sites, iconic landmarks, museums and art galleries, and even solving a Murder Mystery in the city. You’ll be walking through streets and passing buildings made famous by Jane Austen and series such as Bridgerton and McDonald & Dodds.
Your classmates
You will be studying in a group with a maximum of five other women, supporting and empowering each other along the way. You can exchange ideas and questions during lessons, practice conversational English, experience the city of Bath together, and learn about new cultures.
